On our way back to Belfast from Galway, we had to connect at Dublin. So what better way to spend a few hours in between the two spots than taking another 30 minute train south of Dublin.
Yes folks, we went to visit our good buddy Bono. After getting off the train, Steve went to ask around on exactly what hill we had to climb. There are many mansions in this area of Ireland, so we actually walked right past it. With a lot of unnecessary walking and a lot of extra help, we eventually got to Bono’s black gates. When we approached the gates, a security guard speaking through an intercom politely asked us to back away. We did as told and continued to explore around the perimeters of his house. Check out the pictures and the movie from the pilgrimage.
Although we didn’t get a picture with him or a tour through the house as VIP guests, we did hear kids yelling in his backyard (maybe his own!), and we may have seen his wife drive by in her BMW and Bono in his Italian sports car. Ask us more for the details when we get back.
