Just outside Galway on the nice beaches of Salthill.
Don’t get washed away Kare!
The sun is peaking out behind the rain clouds.
On the boardwalk
Kara outside the Danguarie Castle, a four-story tower house built in 1520.
They do great medieval banquets here at night.
Kara outside the castle walls.
Spying inside as if were were invading.
Smiegal is spotted outside the castle walls.
Lep and Kare bypass the Aillwee caves for a scenic lunch.
The food was good and so was the company.
Some rocky country side of the Burren, which appropriately means the “rocky place”.
Beautiful purple wild flowers amongst all the rocks.
And more flowers with beautiful color.
The Poulnabrone Dolmen a burial tomb used over 4,000 years ago.
Could you imagine getting that heavy stone on top?
Or how about transporting it over the rocky landscape.
Kara’s digging it.
Now to the Cliffs of Moher.
For 5 miles these cliffs soar 650 feet above the Atlantic.
Good times!
Kara looks home towards America!
Gulls claim these rocky walls!
If only the pictures could do it justice.
Lep lies out to the edge. That’s 600 feet straight down.
Peeking over the edge is a real thrill, especially with huge gusts of wind soaring upwards!
Another look at the cliffs.
Combined with the sky, absolutely amazing! This was a special place to marvel at what God has made.
The Aran Islands.
Some different cliffs (only 90 feet up) among the Burren.
Another peek over the edge by Lep.
Here’s the view.
Lep’s always up for the pose.
Beautiful colors.
Awesome!
And this photo is to prove we spent time in Galway (although not very much!).
Two night stay in Galway. The reason for coming up here was to tour the Burren and the Cliffs of Moher, some Irealand’s amazing natural beauty.
